After a wonderful month and some odd days, he’s gone.
I’m sad.
I know we’ll see each other again, but it doesn’t make it any easier.
If you’ve ever been in a long distance relationship, then you get it. A little bit at least. Until you’ve been in a cross-cultural, bilingual, LDR…you don’t quite. That’s okay, though. I don’t fully get others’ situations either. I just mean, blahhh, I get jealous of others who live only two hours away from each other and can drive there for the weekend. I cannot drive to Spain, no many how many hours there are in a weekend.
But as I say to Mario (and to myself, so I will believe it), we’ll be together in the end. It’s only right.
I think your grandchildren will agree with me, that you make a seriously adorable couple.
Thanks! And you’re always up so late!
I telecommute to the EEUU. :-)
RIGHT! I’m really happy I was able to hang out with you guys while he was here. =)
Me too! He’ll be back soon (as you know!!). Love you.
I don’t like the title of this post! It should be Hasta Pronto and never Bye Bye! I understand what you’re going through but don’t worry– it’ll all work out :)
Thank you, dear!
right =)
Good!
Right! You two can do it :)
I’m going to be needing similar sport starting in 6 days.
support…. sport?! Really?? Clearly studying to pass the French diploma is ruining my English skills even more than I thought was possible
Hahaha! Good luck on the test!
Right! It’s only right. Hugs to you!
Thanks! You too!
You’re right. No one understands it unless they’ve done it. Mine nearly always has a time limit on it – two months while he’s in Somalia. Three weeks while I’m visiting back in the US. But it still sucks. Sending big besos your way, and an early birthday wish!
Thank you, Cat! You do get it!
I love the pictures, especially the pouty “no more wine sales” photo. Seriously adorable. Sorry you’re bummed, Kaley. Hope you get to see each other soon.
Thanks, Audrey. Hope you’re thriving in Santiago.
I stumbled across your blog a while ago when I was looking through auxiliary blogs (I’m hoping to go this next year after I graduate) and I have loved reading your entries! I studied in Bilbao last year and met my boyfriend and it has now been 4 1/2 months since we’ve seen each other (I’m heading back in 2 weeks finally!!) so I feel your pain girl. It sucks when we have to say goodbye but it will all work out in the end. For now, at least we have skype :)
Are you me? Replace “Bilbao” with “Madrid” and you essentially have my situation (except my visit is in three weeks–not two).
We’re living the same life! Are you applying for the auxiliary position as well?
I am indeed. I would have applied for this year’s position but I found out about the program in late February/early March while I was still in Spain. I didn’t have enough time to get my documents in order before the deadline.
It will definitely work out in the end! And I love the last picture of you and Mario…so cute!! Lots of besos!!
Thanks, Jess!
