Oh, so did I mention …
we’re moving back. To Spain.
And by we, I mean me; Mario’s already there. Being his Spanish self.
I think he looks very Spanish here, hiking in the Castilla y León wilderness.
Did I really just say that? Yeah, I did—me, moving back to Spain.
So yeah, this is happening. Me + Mario + new job for him + apartment hunting + moving to a new city + my brother’s wedding in September + starting the job in October
One Busy Summer
Wish us luck! And, all of my Spain ladies, see you in Spain?
Who wants to “take a coffee”?
Wow!!! That’s awesome news. How exciting!! Congratulations!!!!
Maybe I will finally get to meet you if I’m blessed to live in Madrid one day.
Thank you! Yes, I hope so. :)
So, just started reading your blog, but congratulations! I love Madrid. I look forward to reading about your adventures there with Mario.
Thanks, Katie! I’m always curious–why did you get interested in my blog?
Too awesome. Except, barf, I feel like your #iubb tweets are going to get replaced by Real Madrid ones, which, like I said, barf.
But seriously, I’m so excited for you!! Any idea what you’ll be doing work-wise yet?
Hahaha nooo, didn’t you see my tweet about pretending to like soccer? Shhh, don’t tell Mario.
Also I can’t hate RM, sorry, I hate all the Barcelona love. EW!
AAAAAAHHHHHHH!! =) I’m so very happy for you!
Your pictures are like – This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. haha
THAT’S what I was going for.
Congrats! That’s super exciting and I’m sure you’ll love exploring Madrid. How could you not when there’s a 100 Montaditos on every corner? :)
Yeahhh–I’ll let you know about my first 100 montaditos experience!
Definitely! I hope it lives up to the hype!
Yay! Congrats! Do you know what you will be doing yet?
Me–oh, no, I’m not sure! We’ll see once I get my residency.
Congrats!!! I’m so happy for you two!!! Sorry I’ve failed at emailing you back…. life has been crazy recently. I’ll fill you in soon my dear!
Bisous!
It’s okay–I have plenty of people I need to email back! :) Thank you! Let’s meet up in Europe.
Congratulations Kaley! I bet you’re so happy! Any idea what you’ll be doing?
Nope, not yet. All we’re sure of is getting married, getting my residency, and Mario’s job. Once we get settled down, I’ll look for some work, although Mario’s friends already have ideas. (You know, of course, TEFL.)
Congrats, Madrid is a fun city!
I’ll be discovering it! I’ve not spent a ton of time there, but I’m excited to delve into the not-so-touristy things.
Yay! Can’t wait to have you here and finally meet in person. Congrats to you both.
Yes, that’s one thing I’m super-pumped about–meeting a lot of my blog friends! My mom was worried about me being lonely, but she’ll see that there’s no way. Excited to do some Americanas in Madrid meet-ups as well!
congratulations for both things! you coming back to spain and mario for getting the job! :) good luck with the appartment hunting
Thank you! I’ve no idea if this is going to be difficult or not. We may have a friend we can rent from, so we’ll see.
aaaaaaaaaaaaand i don’t go to madrid that often but if you ever feel like coming to seville for some tapas or the feria, let me know!!
Sevilla is on my list! I would love to see it. I’ve got to travel around Spain more (and everywhere else–benefit of living in Europe)!
So exciting, and congratulations to you and Mario!!! Hopefully we can meet up at some point this summer!!
Yes, I really do hope so. :)
When are you making the move? It seems like we might be trading places-I’m headed back to the States in August. Congrats, lots of exciting things on your plate. Glad you too get to reside on the same continent again.
Move will be September probably, but I’m there in the summer to arrange things. What’s next for LizenEspaa?
Also, can’t believe I wrote “too” instead of “two”. Ugh.
Congrats!! That’s awesome, good luck with the move and everything.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
So happy for you! Congrats! And, I am sure you will find tons of things to do here in Madrid!
Thank you very much. I’m sure I will.
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I enjoy it very much. Congratulations on the move! I know how exciting it is to get to finally get back to the place you’ve been missing for forever. I don’t know Madrid very well, but if you’re ever in Galicia, I’d be happy to meet up!
Thank you; I read yours too. I hope to travel all over, so let’s keep in touch.
toma!
Ya!
Congrats Kaley! I can’t wait to hear (or read) all about your adventures in Spain! :)
Thank you! I can’t wait to post ’em.
So excited for you!! You should try to find a job that appeals to something you’ve always wanted to do… a just-for-fun type of job. I say this so I can have a partner in my adventures starting in July and so you can have a blast in Madrid being young with Mario! :) Oh, btw, you’re brother is getting married in September?! ;)
Yeah, you didn’t hear? Girl, I thought you would know by now.
Yay! So excited for you to be moving back to Spain and congrats to Mario on his job offer! I can’t wait to finally meet you in person!!
Me too!
A huge congrats to Mario and to you. Exciting times on the horizon!! Hope to take (you up on that offer of) coffee with you sooooon!!!!
Yes please!
Yay! Congratulations to you – what an exciting summer coming up.
Madrid is a fun city; you will really enjoy it!
Thank you! It’ll be a busy, exciting summer for sure.
Hey I’m very happy for you! WOo ohooo! It seems like this is what you’ve really wanted for a while.
But am I mistaken, or didn’t you just start a master’s program? No judgement calls here: I totally dropped out of my master’s program and moved to Brazil. Just curious.
Haha, you’re mistaken. I’ve thought about it, but I’m not sure it’s the best thing for me right now! It’s always intriguing, though …
just chiming in as well to say you’re gonna love Madrid! I lived there as a student eons ago. took hubby to Spain for the first time 2 years ago and now he’s also in love w/Spain and we’re hoping to retire to Malaga in 8 years, assuming things go according to plan (read: Obama is reelected). I found your blog whilst perusing another blog that linked to yours. I love reading blogs about Spain!! me encanta España….. buena suerte a tí!!
¡Muchas gracias! I’m going to go check out your blog.
great! keep in mind that I only just got it started ;) lots more still in my head to add to it…thanks much!
Kaley, I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I love it. It makes me incredibly nostalgic for all things Spain. Sometimes I have to take lil vacations from reading to keep myself from getting too sad.
I was just catching up on how you are doing and I found this post. I got so excited when I saw that you were finally getting to go back… and then that you’re getting married!!! You’re a really lucky girl! Congrats and good luck to you!
Hi! I think your name is Reagan! Thank you. I’m glad you like it so much!
